Service NSW: Upgrading gov’t services delivery in 63 rebranded centres statewide

CASE STUDY BRIEF
Client: Service NSW
Location: New South Wales, Australia
CHALLENGE Service NSW, the state government services organisation, launched 63 new centres as a major one-stop-shop customer service initiative. Their internal brief was to have digital signage and customer service information in different locations throughout each centre, utilising small and large displays, to ensure an accessible and information rich platform. From a mounting perspective this meant a variety of ceiling mountsthat had to be easily installed, adjustable and robust, to maximise viewing angles.
SOLUTION Installation of 377 Atdec single display ceiling mounts into all service centres across New South Wales, as well as 38 single display drop length adjustable ceiling mounts. Mounts chosen for ease of installation, slim-line appearance, internal cable management, flexible pole adjustment, quick attachment system, security screw protection, and rotation and screen tilt options.
PRODUCT TH-1026-CT | TH-1040-CTS

Project Overview

Launched in July, 2013, Service NSW has delivered more than 40 million customer transactions to New South Wales residents and businesses through 63 service centres, 8 digital stores, 32 government agencies, 2 contact centres and 44 partner agencies.

Challenge

Service NSW, the state government services organisation, launched 63 new centres as a major one-stop-shop customer service initiative. Their internal brief was to have digital signage and customer service information in different locations throughout each centre, utilising small and large displays, to ensure an accessible and information rich platform.

Service NSW approached Atdec for mounting solutions to facilitate the digital signage element of the rebranding. They required efficient and reliable customer-facing ceiling mounts that would hold a range of small screens, as well as ceiling drops for their larger storefront information screens.

Solution

Service NSW installed 377 single display ceiling mounts into service centres across New South Wales, as well as 38 single display drop length adjustable ceiling mounts. They chose these two particular Atdec mounts specifically for ease of installation, adjustability and robustness, maximised viewing angles, and the sleek, slim-line appearance which was in keeping with their rebranding goals.

In particular, they went with the TH-1026-CT model (the smaller ceiling-mounted screens pictured) because they were ideal for the small electronic information screens required throughout each service centre. Features and benefits included internal cable management, flexible pole adjustment, quick attachment system and security screw to protect screen safety.

Also highly useful to Service NSW was the ability to rotate the TH-1026-CT ceiling mounts a full 360° thanks to the telescopic pole, as well as screen tilt options to ensure the optimum viewing angle at all times.

Then also, the TH-1040-CTS single display drop length adjustable ceiling mounts were selected for the centres’ larger screen requirements, including ability to provide information and service announcements to customers right at the storefront.

In particular, the TH-1040-CTS was selected for its versatile display position adjustments (360° with a “donut” mounting head), display position adjustment (20 degrees in any direction with the VESA ball mount), customisable display height (up to up to 900mm with telescopic pole), and advanced internal cable management. The addition of in-built safety features, designed to prevent the unlikely event of the telescopic poles separating, made this mount perfect for Service NSW’s high traffic, demanding service centre environment.
