How can I determine if a particular monitor/TV/Projector will fit a mount?
The first thing to check is whether the product has a VESA style mounting and if so what “pattern” (size dimension) it is*. The next thing to check is the weight (excluding the stand). The last check should be the physical product dimensions; while not usually a critical factor it can effect aesthetics (if the device is smaller than the mount then you may end up with sections of the mount showing) or movement (larger displays can limit the amount of adjustment possible on Tilt, Tilt/Pan and Full Motion mounts). Please see What is VESA (below) for measurement instructions.
Why do some Atdec products list a minimum weight requirement?
Some of our mounts incorporate powered, gas or spring assisted movement. These require a certain amount of weight to operate correctly.
Will Atdec mounts hold more than their maximum specified weight?
We design and test all products for specified load capacities. Exceeding the specification will invalidate warranty and is not recommended. If you have any concerns in regards product weight and the suitability of our various mounts then we recommend you discuss the situation with our friendly staff
Can I get a different colour?
If multiple colour options are available then these are normally noted on the relevant product pages. If you are planning a large installation and would like to investigate a custom solution then please contact our support centre.
What is VESA?
VESA stands for “Video Electronics Standards Association”, a group that regulates the mounting hole configurations or “patterns” (W x H size dimensions) used by Electronic Equipment Manufacturers. VESA mounting patterns are normally expressed in millimetres (ie 200mm x 100mm). IMPORTANT: While TV and monitor dimensions are usually measured diagonally, VESA dimensions are measured horizontally and vertically. Please see the VESA Standards page for more information.
What does Universal Mouniting Hole Ssupport mean?
VESA mounting patterns are stated in fixed sizes with increments of 25mm (ie 75x75mm, 150mmx250mm, etc). Universal mounts support patterns across a range of sizes (ie from 100x100mm to 800x500mm).
Can I attach a non-VESA compliant device to an Atdec mount?
If the device has attachment points at the rear (or the stand can be removed to provide these) then often the answer is yes. You need to check the weight then measure the attachment point pattern (W x H in mm) and select a suitable mount with Universal Mounting Hole Support that covers these dimensions. The next issue is to check the physical shape of the attachment area and the screw threads on the attachment points. Most Atdec mounts are shipped with a range of screws and spacers to support devices with a slight curve. In the rare cases that these are not sufficient you may need to source replacements from your local hardware supplier. NOTE: Care should be taken with devices that have a strongly curved attachment area. Long screws with many spacers may not provide a stable mounting.

Configuration and Installation
What do I do if I can’t attach a device to a mount or have problems with set-up/ operation?
The first step should always be to check the installation and user manuals. These are included with all products and if mislaid copies can be downloaded from the relevant product pages on our web site. If you cannot locate or need additional assistance then please contact our support centre.
Can I attach Atdec desk mounts to a ceiling?
For most products this is not practical. While not specifically designed for the purpose it is possible to do this with some of our Spacedec units (SD-POS-VBM, SD-POS-HA, SD-DP).
I have a Spacedec swing arm or articulated mount. I can’t get it to fit a display with a 100 x 100mm mounting pattern although the product description says it is compatible?
Locate the black plastic extension clips provided in the pack (these are will be contained within a bag or small box along with other mounting hardware). Follow the instructions included with the product (copies can be downloaded from the relevant product page). Once attached the arm should fit the required mounting pattern.
I have a Visidec focus mount. I can’t get it to fit a display with a 100 x 100mm mounting pattern although the product description says it is compatible?
Pull out the tabs at the end of the flexi star head. Once extended the arm should fit the required mounting pattern.
Can I get different pole lengths for a projector mount?
Atdec provide a range of projector mounts. Each is supplied with poles of one or more lengths. If the length included with your chosen product is not what you require then seek advice from our support team
Can I extend the drop length of a ceiling display mount?
Most of our ceiling mounts feature a high degree of height adjustment. The TH-3070-CTW comes with several pole lengths in the pack which can be used separately or in conjunction with each other to configure a number of drop lengths. The TH-1040-CT comes in two versions (Short & Long) with telescopic adjustment on each. We also have an extension pole (TH-1040-EXT-1000-1H) which can be used to extend the drop length of either the short or long length mount by an additional 1m. While it is possible to connect multiple extension poles together it is not normally advised due to weight and safety limitations. If you have a situation which requires a particularly long drop then please contact our support team to discuss your situation before purchase.
Can I add additional arms to a dual display mount?
If you are seeking to mount four displays together then we recommend the Visidec Quad (VFS-Q). If you are seeking to mount one to four devices with independant adjustment then we recommend the Visidec Focus series (VF-AT, VF-AT-D, VF-M or VF-AT-NP); each ships with one or two arms with additionals display (VF-AT-AA) and notebook (VF-AT-NK) arms available separately. Care needs to be taken when mounting three or more devices on the same Focus pole. You need to ensure the weight rating for both the pole and desk attachment is not exceeded and it is best to seek advice from our support team before purchase.

Operation and Maintenance
How durable are Atdec products?
Atdec has been producing mounts for over 20 years. Products are designed in Australia and built to provide functional and dependable operation. We use toughened alloys in our structural arms and at attachment points while incorporating quality components in joints and support mechanisms. We not only back our products with warranty but also operate an on-going testing and refinement program.
What is the warranty on Atdec products?
Atdec continues to refine and improve both our products and service level. We recently upgraded the majority of our range to a ten (10) year warranty. This enhanced warranty was provided for product purchased after January 1st, 2011. Prior to this most items featured a five (5) year warranty. Important: some brochures and technical manuals may contain outdated information; for the latest details please refer to the relevant product pages on this web site.
My screen height, tilt &/or pivot won’t adjust.
Most adjustable mounts have tension and/or locking mechanism. Some adjustable mounts have pre-sets that are configured during installation and require tools for re-setting. Please review the installation/user manual that was shipped with the product or download a new copy from our web site. If you cannot locate the required information then contact our support centre for assistance.
I'm having trouble trying to adjust the height on a VF-AT-W. Am I doing something wrong?
The VF-AT-W features a unique design which uses the weight of the display to hold the height position. If you are having difficulty making an adjustment the first thing to check is that you have loosened the locking screw. Once this has been done hold the display and tilt the arm slightly upwards; you should now be able to adjust up or down quite easily. While not critical it is a good idea to re-engage the locking screw once you have selected the appropriate height; this will ensure there is no movement should the display be knocked.
Can I get a pole extension for an existing projector mount?
Unfortunately we do not provide these as separate components.
I have an existing desk mount that I want to put on a wall. Is there anything I can do?
Unfortunately due to different stresses involved with alternate mounting configurations we are unable to provide conversion kits.
Can I order spare parts?
Unfortunately, while we offer a number of upgrade and adaptor kits (these are typically noted on the relevant product pages), we are unable to provide replacement components.
