Project Brief: Laurentian University faced an increasingly complex challenge when trying to maximize the working desk space in its multiple student computer labs throughout its campus. The biggest challenge was how to minimise the amount of computer equipment on each desk in the computer labs so that Laurentian University's students would have more room to work. An additional criterion was that the university required ergonomically friendly, highly secure space saving mounting solutions that would also prevent the possibility of theft of computer equipment from the computer labs.
As part of the process to find the best solution to its monitor mounting challenge, Laurentian University researched and investigated many different visual display mounting companies and determined that Atdec was the best company to meet its needs.

In addition to space savings, ergonomic functionality and a high level of security, Gareau said Laurentian University needed an LCD monitor mount that was also attractive and provided a way to limit the amount of cables in each student work station. The POS Multi

Client’s Comments:“The desks in our computer labs are getting smaller
and we are trying to fit as many computers as possible into each space. We
found that utilizing LCD monitors with their original stand was taking up too
much space on each desk, leaving students with less room to work. In addition,
the original monitor stands are not very ergonomically-friendly for users.

The Atdec POS Multi is constructed with a strong and powerful steel structure with a secure cover on top of the mounting screws that are drilled into a desk. In addition, the POS Multi includes a convenient location to attach a monitor security system such as wire cable locking device. This all works to prevent the possible theft of the monitor from the stand.
